1. Why This Guide Exists
Booking a photo session can feel exciting — and quietly intimidating at the same time.
Most people don’t hesitate booking because they dislike a photographer's photos. They hesitate because they don’t know what the experience will actually feel like. Often people like you have questions…
Questions like:
What happens when I show up?
What if I feel awkward?
What if I don’t know how to pose?
What control do I really have?
What am I committing to if I reach out?
This guide exists to answer those questions before you ever have to ask them.
There’s no pressure here. No expectation that you book after reading.
The goal is simple: clarity.
When people know what to expect, decision-making becomes easier — and trust can form naturally.
2. Booking and Pricing - How it Works With SDS.
Most hesitation comes from not knowing what the process looks like. So let’s remove the mystery.
Here’s how booking works with SDS Creative Co, start to finish:
Step 1: Inquiry
You reach out through the contact form. That’s it. Once you submit the form, I will reach out to you and discuss details.
This is not a commitment — it’s a conversation
Step 2: Conversation & Planning
We talk through:
- The type of session you’re considering
- Your comfort level and boundaries
- Any questions or concerns you have
- Location, timing, and expectations
- Pricing and how your session is built
Rather than a one-size-fits-all price list, sessions are built around the individual. During this conversation, we’ll walk through:
- What kind of experience you’re looking for
- What matters most to you
- What’s included
- What the investment looks like
All of this happens before anything is booked. There are no surprise charges, no pressure to move forward, and no obligation just for asking questions. The goal is clarity — not a quick yes.
Step 3: Session Day
You arrive knowing:
- What kind of session you’re doing
- How it will be guided
- What is and isn’t expected of you
Nothing is “figured out on the fly.”
Step 4: Image Delivery
You receive a private online gallery with your images, delivered as discussed — no surprises, no hidden steps.
That’s the entire process.
No traps.
No urgency tactics.
No obligation just for asking questions.

3. What a Session Is Actually Like
- Know how to pose
- Perform confidence
- Enter with a specific personality
- “Act like a model
Here's what typically happens:
When You Arrive
There’s no immediate camera-in-your-face moment. We take a few minutes to settle in, talk, and reset. This isn’t a rush-in, rush-out environment.
Warm-Up Phase
Warm-Up PhaseWe start simple. Easy movements. Minimal pressure. This is where nerves usually fade — not because you force them away, but because the structure supports you.
Guided Posing & Direction
Some people know how to pose or have experience. Some people don’t. Regardless of your experience and comfort level, I can guide you:
- Where to stand
- How to move
- What to adjust
- When to slow down or reset
You are never left wondering what to do next. If you need help thinking about posing beforehand I can send you posing examples, guides, etc for your session type
Pace & Breaks
Sessions move at a human pace. Breaks are normal. Pausing is allowed. Nothing is rushed for the sake of “getting shots.”
Communication Throughout
If something feels off, uncomfortable, or just not you — we adjust. Clear communication is expected and respected. This experience is designed for people who are nervous.
That’s not a flaw — it’s the baseline.
4. What You Do — and Don’t — Need to Bring
What You Do Need
- Yourself
- An open mind
- A willingness to be guided
- Prior experience in front of a camera
- A practiced pose list (although SDS can help with this if it helps you feel more prepared)
- A certain body type
- A specific personality

Confidence is not a prerequisite here. It’s something that builds as the session progresses.

Clothing & Wardrobe
- A few outfit options they already own
- Pieces that feel comfortable and familiar
- Items that reflect them, not a trend
Hair & Makeup
- Do their own hair and makeup
- Keep things natural
- Look like themselves on a good day, not a different version of themselves
What You Don’t Need to Worry About
You don’t need to:
- Buy new clothing unless you want to
- Look a certain way to “deserve” photos
- Know what works best on camera
- Have everything figured out before booking
That’s part of the process — not something you’re expected to solve on your own.
5. What You’re Not Getting (and Why That’s Okay)
Photography experiences vary widely. What some photographers offer, others intentionally do not. Neither is inherently right or wrong, but it’s important to know what aligns with you.
Here’s what working with me is — and is not — designed to be.
This Is Not a Glam-Team Experience
This is not a high-production environment with:
- A full glam squad
- Multiple assistants in the room
- Loud energy or constant hype
- A performance-driven atmosphere
If you’re looking for an experience centered around spectacle or transformation, this may not be the right fit — and that’s okay.
What This Experience Prioritizes Instead. This experience is designed around:
- Calm guidance
- Clear communication
- Privacy and control
- Feeling respected throughout the process
- Creating images that feel like you, not a persona
The goal isn’t to turn you into something else.
The goal is to create space where you feel comfortable enough to show up as yourself — and to guide that moment with intention and professionalism.
Why This Matters
For many people, fewer moving parts actually creates:
- Less pressure
- Fewer distractions
- More emotional safety
- A more grounded experience
You’re not being rushed, managed, or performed at.
You’re being guided.
And for clients who value trust, clarity, and a steady presence behind the camera, that difference matters.
